Things have sped up (and fast) for the Chaudes-Aigues Tattoo Festival since January 2015. News of the event's unavoidable postponement to an unspecified later date spread like wildfire in the media and social networks, creating quite a buzz. To put it simply, Cantal In’k (the event’s now widely accepted nickname) was a victim of its own success. But the team in charge of organising this one-of-a-kind tattoo festival knows there’s more than one way to skin a cat…and they've got a big surprise in store for you come July 2015.

There has been an unprecedented wave of support to keep Cantal In’k alive – from festival-goers and, most notably, from Chaudes-Aigues residents committed to saving the event. And so the Tattoo Festival team has been wondering: how can we thank everyone for the support they have shown? We've found the answer: Tatouage au Village (Tattooing on the Town).
Sure, some will say it's just a "plan B" or "substitution event". But we don't see that as a bad thing – we actually take it as a compliment! Thanks to everyone's hard work, we've been able to bounce back and reunite the Friends of the Festival (les Amis du Festival): residents and shopkeepers from Chaudes-Aigues, tattoo enthusiasts from Auvergne and elsewhere, and dedicated fans who want to bring back Cantal In’k.
So here's the rundown:
Date: 4 to 5 July 2015 – the first weekend of July, just like the Tattoo Festival.
Location: Chaudes-Aigues.
Programme: Shows, concerts, demonstrations and…tattooing.
Special guests: The legendary Pascal Tourain (who was kind enough to say "yes" to Tatouage au Village!), plus tattoo artists from all over the world who we will reveal on a regular basis leading up to the festival. Shane O’Neill has already confirmed that he'll be back at Chaudes-Aigues this year…
